Top Five in the Nation for Access and Excellence
Among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges for 2022-2023, Monmouth University ranks as one of the top five private, non-denominational, Division I schools for student access and academic excellence. Nearly one-third of Monmouth students are Pell Grant-eligible, and nearly half of first-year students are the first in their family to attend college.

The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music
Provides scholars, fans, filmmakers, and curators from around the world access to the largest official collection of the New Jersey rock legend’s written works, photographs, periodicals, and artifacts—featuring over 35,000 items from 47 countries.

Led by founding director Patrick Murray, the Polling Institute remains one of the nation’s most accurate polling operations, recently receiving an A rating and landing in the top 11 of pollsters ranked by news site FiveThirtyEight.

Recognized as a regional leader in the areas of marine research, coastal policy and community resilience, the UCI provides students and faculty researchers access to a fleet of three research vessels and a collection of cutting-edge marine science technologies.

Monmouth University faculty researchers and their students—in partnership with the Rockefeller University in New York City—are helping to pioneer a marine life detection technique that holds the promise of being less expensive, more humane, and more revealing than other longstanding scientific methods.

As a senior biology major and student researcher, Mehdi Husaini ’20 left his mark on cancer research as an undergraduate by investigating the importance of a protein called fascia in certain brain cancers.

Through the School of Science Summer Research Program, Monmouth’s student and faculty researchers are tracking sharks off the coast of New Jersey in an effort to better understand how improper catch and release affects their numbers.

Exceptional Outcomes

A New Home for Hawks Broadcasts
Monmouth students prepare for a career in live broadcasting with hands-on experience in the Parton Broadcasting Center, a state-of-the-art control room outfitted with industry-standard digital production equipment. In addition to programming airing nationally on the FloSports platform, select student-led broadcasts are featured on regional sports networks SNY and NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Named to Billboard’s 40 under 40 young music executives list, Todd has forged a unique career trajectory that combines her dual passions for law and music. Crediting her experiences at Monmouth University as inspiration to further her education, Todd now serves as a copyright expert and musician with the music publishing and talent management company, Primary Wave Music.

Now a production assistant for Law & Order, Galloway gained real-world experience through multiple roles on the upcoming feature-length film Miranda’s Victim, which was filmed partly on Monmouth University’s campus. Galloway attributes his hands-on experiences at the student-run television station Hawk TV, along with his coursework, as preparing him to work behind the scenes on major productions.

Meeting the Demand for Skilled Health Care Practitioners
Our alumni change the landscape of local health care and pave the way for Monmouth students to earn leadership roles in an increasingly complex landscape of medical advances, regulatory changes, and a greater reliance on technology. One couple, Dr. Carl ‘91M and Janice Marchetti ‘85, are among the pioneering group behind the Jersey Shore Medical Center, and have helped open doors to more opportunities that address the many health care challenges facing our nation.

The noted blues and rock historian was recently appointed executive director of the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. Santelli, who is also the founding executive director of the Los Angeles-based GRAMMY Museum, credits Monmouth with opening the door to endless opportunities.

Quintanilla is a first-generation college graduate who was inspired by her Spanish-speaking parents to provide those in underserved communities with information they need in their daily lives. As a bilingual news producer for KSN-TV, an NBC-affiliate in Wichita, KS, Quintanilla identifies the day’s top stories, writes scripts, and directs the live show from start to finish.

As a law student and Public Interest Scholar at UC Berkeley’s nationally ranked top-10 law school, McMillan is committed to helping marginalized communities that are disproportionately affected by the criminal justice system. Her work is focused on community lawyering and finding progressive solutions beyond incarceration.
