New Student Orientation

For Students

January New Student Orientation (NSO)

During this one-day program, First Year transfer students (under 18 credits) will participate in activities to help them transition academically, socially, and personally. Students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with other new students, to learn more about Monmouth from student leaders and administrators, and to get connected to the campus resources that will help make the college experience successful and satisfying. Transfer students with over 18 should visit their applicant portal for information about their orientation or email transferservices@monmouth.edu.

Deposited student will receive an invite letter via their applicant e-mail address.

Hawk Welcome & Advising Days

Students will come to campus to meet with an academic advisor and register for Fall 2024 classes. Students attend workshops aimed at preparing them for both their academic and social transition to Monmouth. You will be given a selection of dates to choose from based upon your major. Registration for this program opens in early May via your applicant portal. Select dates will be available to you based on your major. You can register your family to attend Family Orientation at the same time.

June 24, 25, 26, & 27

July 8, 9, 10, & 11

New Student Orientation (NSO)

During orientation, you will participate in a variety of interactive programs designed to allow you to meet fellow first year students and to assist with your transition to Monmouth. This is an extremely important program for all students to attend – both residential and commuter students. You will receive additional information and a schedule for NSO in early August.

2024 Program Dates: Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2

For Families

Family Orientation

Families are invited to attend Family Orientation while students are attending their Hawk Welcome & Advising Day. This program will focus on the student experience both inside and outside the classroom. Many parts of this program will have recorded versions that be will be posted to monmouth.edu/orientation in case you are unavailable in person and would like to view the sessions at your convenience. Registration for Family Orientation is part of the student’s Hawk Welcome and Advising Days registration.
