Grants and Scholarships

Grants and Scholarships are types of financial aid that do not have to be repaid; sometimes this is referred to as “gift aid”.  Generally, grants are based on financial need while scholarships are based on academic performance.  Grants and scholarships can come from several sources:  the federal government, the state government, the University itself, and private or outside sources.  In addition to being a participant in all federal and NJ scholarship and grant programs, Monmouth University makes a substantial commitment to its students by earmarking nearly $80 million annually for scholarships and grants.
