There is a good chance that you know someone at Monmouth University who went to an off-campus party and got into a disagreement with one of the guests, were issued a summons for illegally consuming alcohol, or were arrested for an alcohol violation. Maybe it happened to you?
Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to prevent that from happening? Believe it or not, it is possible to have a great party and not run into any problems with guests, neighbors, the police, or Monmouth University. That's what Party Smart is all about! Helping Monmouth students host safe, responsible, yet fun parties.
The whole concept behind Party Smart is rooted in common sense. Party Smart orignated in an SGA meeting during the fall 2007 semester. Since then, the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services and the Office of Substance Awareness have joined in to help make Party Smart a new tradition at Monmouth University.
HOW IT WORKS
It's pretty simple. The next time you decide to host an off-campus party, stop by the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services (located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center) or the Office of Substance Awareness (located in the Health Center) and pick up a FREE Party Smart kit.
WHAT'S IN THE PARTY SMART KIT?
Every Party Smart kit has a Free t-shirt, a Party Smart bucket to hold guests' keys so they don't drive intoxicated, a Party Smart pamplet, a coupon for a FREE 6 pack of 20 ounce Coca Cola products from ARAMARK, coupons to local eateries and businesses, phone numbers for cab companies, and pamphlets from the Office of Substance Awareness.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE PARTY SMART KIT?
Read the literature in the kit. Then apply those suggestions as you plan your next party. You can then look forward to having both a safe and fun time without running into any problems with your neighbors, the police, your guests, or Monmouth University.
