About the Program

Pursue your interest in literature and creative writing with Monmouth’s B.A. in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing program. You will receive a comprehensive liberal arts education while exploring various works of literature and styles of creative writing, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. You will develop transferable writing and analytical skills that are crucial for success in a variety of exciting fields.

Undergraduate Research & Internships

Apply your skills in text comprehension and analysis by interning at publishing companies such as Penguin, Random House, and St. Martin’s Press, or at organizations such as the National Geographic Society, the Strand Theater, and the Monmouth County SPCA. Take advantage of opportunities to speak to and learn from accomplished writers while attending the Visiting Writers Series. Gain experience in publishing by working on the University’s literary and arts journal, The Monmouth Review, or explore playwriting with the NJ Repertory Company Series.
