About the Program
From Peter Pan to Batman, Stranger Things to Japanese Anime, Freddy Krueger and Lord of the Rings, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Filmmaking have been an integral force in the history of cinema and popular culture.
This first-of-its-kind program in Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Filmmaking gives students hands-on, professional experience creating their own unique works in these pioneering genres.
Open to all Monmouth University students, no matter your major—no previous experience in filmmaking required.

Undergraduate Research & Internships
Students can strengthen their filmmaking and screenwriting abilities by participating in the Film Club, Monmouth’s student-run filmmaking organization. Film Club allows students to gain experience in every level of production, including their own fully realized original scripts and short films. Students assume all leadership responsibilities, from the screenwriting and pre-production to directing, cinematography, production design, editing, and VFX. The organization also hosts screenings and invites professional filmmakers to campus.
