The fifth annual National Transfer Student Week takes place October 18 – October 22, 2021. This awareness campaign aims to recognize and celebrate transfer students and those that support them.
This year’s theme is “These Transfer Shoes: Step into My Journey.” We’ll be sharing our transfer students’ journeys and successes through social media profiles from October 13 – October 22. Join in the conversation with hashtag #TransferStudentWeek.
We’ve also planned an exciting series of digital and in-person events for National Transfer Student Week. We invite students, administrators, faculty, and staff to participate in this year’s line-up.
Transfer Student Pride Day
Wednesday, October 20 || All Day
Be proud of your accomplishments as a transfer student! Wear your Transfer Hawks tee-shirt, Monmouth University gear, or a shirt from the community college you transferred from today to celebrate.
Participating students can stop by the Transfer Services Office from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm for some pre-Halloween treats and prizes.
Transfer students can pick up a free Transfer Hawks tee shirt in the Transfer Services office on October 14-15 or October 18-20 to participate in the event.
Transfer Journey Chalk Walk
Thursday, October 21 || 11:00am – 2:00 pm || Outside the Student Center
Did you know nearly a third of Monmouth University’s students are transfers? Join us in celebrating their journeys by “stepping into their shoes” during our chalk walk. We invite all transfer students, their advisors, and staff that support to them to participate. Simply outline your feet in chalk and add your name (students can also add where they transferred from).
Students can also learn more about the Transfer Hawks Club and Tau Sigma Honor Society, as well as grabbing some transfer themed swag!
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Submission Deadline – Thursday, October 21 by 5:00pm || Vote Deadline – Sunday, October 24
Who says we can’t combine Transfer Student Week and spooky season? Transfer students can submit a picture of their decorated pumpkin to transferservices@monmouth.edu by 5:00pm on October 21 to enter. We’ll post the contestants to our Instagram and the winner for best pumpkin will be decided by a vote of our followers.
