Hawk Safety Alert 2021-01

Dear Monmouth University Community:

Please be advised that the suspicious male described in the original Hawk Safety Alert listed below was observed on campus last night and immediately arrested by the Monmouth University Police Department.  The subject is banned from campus.  If you observe anyone fitting the description listed below or any suspicious persons or activity please contact the Monmouth University Police Department at 732-571-4444.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the members of our community who continue to demonstrate their vigilance in keeping our campus safe and secure.

On March 17, 2021, the Monmouth University Police Department was made aware of a number of instances that occurred in Long Branch regarding a suspicious male interacting with Monmouth University female students, off campus. As a result of this information we wanted to make you aware of the following.

Monmouth University students contacted the Long Branch Police Department to report the actions of this individual, who is their neighbor. This neighbor was seen knocking on their doors and banging on their windows. He also approached at least one student in the street and invited her to come over to his house for a party. He has been described as seeking companionship of Monmouth University students along with other young women of the local community.

The known suspect is described as a 61 year old white male, 5’10”, 220 lbs., blue eyes, with brown and gray colored hair, a mustache and goatee.

His vehicle is a 2004 Toyota Camry, color blue with New Jersey license plates.

The residences involved are private residences.

There is no threat to the campus nor any indication that the suspect has been on campus.
