The Office of Campus Equity and Employee Relations is committed to fostering a workplace and learning environment in which all members of the University community are treated with dignity, respect, fairness, and professionalism.

The director of Campus Equity and Employee Relations provides leadership and guidance on matters involving workplace equity, equal opportunity, employee relations, and the resolution of workplace concerns. Working collaboratively with employees, supervisors, University leadership, and other campus partners, the office seeks to promote a positive and respectful campus culture while ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly, fairly, and consistently.

The Office of Campus Equity and Employee Relations provides guidance and support in areas including:

Campus Equity and Equal Opportunity

  • Promoting equal employment and educational opportunities.
  • Responding to concerns involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Providing guidance regarding University policies and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Supporting efforts to create an equitable, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.
  • Coordinating the review and resolution of campus equity concerns.

Employee Relations

  • Providing guidance to employees and supervisors regarding workplace concerns and conflicts.
  • Assisting with the resolution of interpersonal and workplace issues.
  • Supporting supervisors in addressing employee conduct concerns.
  • Promoting fair, consistent, and respectful employment practices.
  • Providing guidance regarding workplace policies and procedures.
  • Facilitating conversations and other appropriate efforts to resolve workplace concerns.

The office may provide guidance and coordinate with appropriate University partners regarding requests for reasonable accommodations for employees and applicants. Employees seeking an accommodation are encouraged to contact the Office to begin an interactive and confidential process.

Our Commitment

We recognize that raising a workplace concern can sometimes be difficult. Employees are encouraged to seek guidance or raise concerns when they believe that they have experienced or witnessed conduct that is inconsistent with University policies or our shared commitment to a respectful and equitable campus community.

The office is committed to listening to concerns, gathering appropriate information, and addressing matters in a fair, impartial, and timely manner. Each concern is reviewed based on its individual circumstances, and the University will take appropriate action consistent with applicable policies and procedures.
