Brookdale Promise

Brookdale Promise

At Monmouth University, we believe in making our high-quality education accessible to as many students as possible. Brookdale Promise is designed for Brookdale Community College students who would benefit from additional financial assistance in transferring to Monmouth.

How does the Brookdale Promise work?

Brookdale students who transfer to Monmouth and who are full Pell and full TAG-eligible or have an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $65,000 or less with partial Pell and TAG will qualify for the Brookdale Promise Scholarship. In combination with Monmouth University awards, Pell, TAG, Stars II (where applicable), and the maximum Federal Direct Subsidized Loan amount for which the student is eligible ($3,500 for freshmen, $4,500 for sophomores, and $5,500 for juniors and seniors), the Brookdale Promise Scholarship will cover the full cost of annual tuition and fees ($48,140 for 2025-26). Eligibility for the Brookdale Promise Scholarship will be evaluated at the beginning of each academic year, with a 2.0 cumulative GPA required for renewal.

Don’t Qualify? No Problem.

Don’t qualify for Brookdale Promise? No problem – Monmouth offers Brookdale transfer students many other options to help make a Monmouth education affordable. Students who apply to Monmouth and attend full-time are considered automatically for scholarships and grants up to $14,000 annually that are awarded on the basis of your cumulative college grade point average.*

Students who file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will also be considered for Monmouth University need-based aid.

In addition, Brookdale students may also qualify for:

Monmouth University Scholarship and Award Programs

Monmouth County Commissioners’ Scholarship: all Brookdale transfers are evaluated for a $5,000 per year scholarship.

Monmouth University Endowed Scholarships: all Brookdale students are evaluated for Monmouth University scholarships that are specifically designated for students transferring from Brookdale.

Brookdale Achievement Grant (for students enrolling full-time beginning in Fall 2026): all Brookdale transfers who complete their associate’s degree will automatically be awarded an additional $2,000 per academic year (up to the full cost of tuition and fees).

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Award: all Brookdale students who are current members of PTK receive a $2,500 scholarship annually.

Residency Award: all students who elect to live in university housing will receive a $2,000 award per year.

Transfer financial aid and scholarship programs specific to Brookdale transfer students as specified above do not apply to high school students who are part of dual enrollment programs. Students in those programs will be considered for freshman scholarship and aid programs. Brookdale to Monmouth programs are available for incoming students beginning in Fall 2025.

*Please note that grant and scholarship eligibility is determined on the basis of the student’s high school cumulative grade point average and SAT scores for students who will have completed fewer than 24 transferable credit hours.
