Way to Wellness, Monmouth University’s employee wellness program is committed to a campus culture that promotes wellness through healthy lifestyles that enhance the quality of life for our employees. Way to Wellness offers a variety of programming and services, such as health assessments and education, fitness activities, smoking cessation workshops, weight management options and more to help employees reach their health goals.
University Health Center is available to all employees and their spouse/domestic partner who are enrolled in our medical plan for common, non-urgent illness or injury. Your primary care physician will continue to be used for chronic disease
management. However, in the event of a serious illness or injury please call
the Monmouth University Police department at 732-571-4444.
Health Center also assists in the assessment of work-related injuries. If you experience an injury in the course of
your work responsibilities, please report to the Health Center for evaluation
and referral is necessary.
Health Center is located on University Road on the north campus, adjacent to
Birch Hall and the Monmouth University Library.

Friday: 8am - 5pm
On Thursday, October 2, 2014 and Tuesday, November 11, 2014 the seasonal vaccination clinics will be held in Anacon Hall beginning at 1pm. ESI Medical LLC will be on campus to provide Monmouth University employees and their spouse and children (18 years of age and older) with the opportunity to receive the season flu vaccine. ESI is an in-network provider in our Horizon BCBSNJ Direct Access plan so charges for the vaccination will be billed directly to your insurance company. ESI will also be providing Pneumonia, Tetanus/Pertussis, Shingles and Meningitis vaccinations. If you would like to receive a vaccination other than season flu please contact ESI directly at 732-292-0101.
If you are looking to get in shape, create a personal challenge or just want to have some fun, please join us for an information session on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 12 noon in MAC Varsity Club. The seven week training program will be held on Mondays at 5:30 beginning Monday, October 6, 2014. This program is designed for both the beginner or intermediate runner and will culminate in running the 5K of your choice. Please feel free to bring your spouse as well for a running buddy!
Dr. Thomas Moore, Director of the Barnabas OneSource Employee Assistance Program will be on site for employee consultations and intake. This is a free benefit to all employees so if you have been experiencing difficulty with life issues please call Dr. Moore directly at 212-691-4408 to schedule an appointment. Appointments will be limited to 30 minutes between the hours of 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM the doctor will help with setting up additional sessions with a designated provider.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2014, Atlantic Medical Imaging will be on campus providing mammography services to University employees between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. An appointment is required so please contact Jennifer Steinke in the Office of Human Resources at ext 7594 or email@example.com for additional information. Reports and films will be provided to your physician within one week of your mammography. Please bring your insurance information to your appointment although the service is available to any uninsured employee as well.
The American Heart Association will be on campus from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in front of the Rebecca Stafford Student Center. The National celebration began six years ago as a way to raise awareness about the importance of making healthy food choices on a regular basis. Aramark will host a healthy food demonstration and the American Heart Association will be providing information as well as health-related giveaways. Join in the festivities of fun, food, games, prizes, music and more!
All smokers interested in becoming tobacco free in 2015 are welcome to attend this one hour Lunch & Learn at 12 noon in the Rebecca Stafford Student Center Room 202A. Carol Logan, tobacco specialist from Barnabas Health will facilitate the information session and will be looking for committed employees interested in quitting smoking. The five week Living Smoke Free Program will begin on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 and continue on Tuesdays through February 3, 2015 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. The cost of the Program is $25 which will be refunded to all participants who complete the 5 week program.
Membership at the Fitness Center is
a free benefit to all employees and their spouse/domestic partner. Employees can obtain a registration form in
the Office of Human Resources. The
Office of Human Resources works in conjunction with the Fitness Center and
Department of Athletics to offer quality fitness and wellness programs to the
campus community. Watch for e-mails offering a variety of motivational programs
to improve your health and well-being.
