Kislak Real Estate Institute
Success in real estate demands a broad understanding of many diverse areas of the industry. Factors such as overbuilding, increasingly complicated finance investments, environmental concerns, sophisticated legal issues, and demanding regulatory constraints are becoming increasingly important concerns. Individuals who lack the requisite skills and knowledge necessary to manage these issues are at a distinct disadvantage.
In response to the needs of the real estate professionals, the Monmouth University Kislak Real Estate Institute offers a five-course certificate program. The curriculum encompasses the multiple disciplines needed by individuals who must make real estate decisions as investors, asset managers, consultants, developers, and officers of financial institutions. Professionals in allied fields such as architecture, accounting, and financial services will find that this program provides the conceptual and practical skills needed for a productive career related to commercial real estate.
The curriculum also stresses practical, real-world applications. The case study method is used to focus on such issues as the components of a successful project, challenges facing the industry in the millennium, and financing through new sources of capital. Each session builds upon your previous session and parallels the activities of the development process.
The courses in the 2008-2009 program are offered on a ten-week basis. The program is the only executive education real estate program in the State of New Jersey. Courses are offered at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ.
