Cybersecurity Research Center Represented at Three Cyber/AI Conferences in October

Category:

The Monmouth University Cybersecurity Research Center was at not one, not two, but three different conferences last week

Professor Brian Callahan presented quantum machine learning pipelines for cyber defenders at the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) Security Congress in Colorado. This annual event was attended by over 4,000 global cybersecurity professionals, practitioners, and CISOs.

Two cybersecurity research papers were also presented, virtually, by Professor Callahan at the IEEE Cyber Awareness Research Symposium (CARS) in North Dakota: one on improving security awareness training and another on benchmarking compiler-based mitigations. This symposium brings together researchers, industry leaders, and students to advance the frontiers of cybersecurity and AI.

Simultaneously, SE.BS student Fabiana Torres was at IBM in Yorktown Heights presenting research work on using quantum machine learning for malware detection at the IBM IEEE CAS/EDS – AI Compute Symposium. This ninth AI compute symposium and the tenth iteration of the series of IBM CAS EDS symposia was hosted at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center Think Lab in Yorktown Heights, New York, which brings together innovators in cutting-edge research for a one-day forum to explore AI Compute challenges and future research directions.

Look for more exciting cybersecurity research papers and presentations in the coming weeks.
