Department Chair’s Welcome Message
Advances in computing and software technology have radically changed the way we work, play, search for information, transact business, explore science, and solve problems. Now is a very exciting time for the field of computer science and software engineering.
Monmouth University grants both the BS and MS degree in computer science and software engineering. Our programs will give you the background to help create the next generation of innovations in computing and software engineering technology.
Most of our faculty members have years of industrial experience. The research specializations of our faculty include networking, security, databases, intelligent information systems, software requirements, software architecture and design, human-computer interface, software project management, and software quality assurance.
We have small classes taught by excellent faculty. Our equipment is state of the art. The campus is calm, peaceful, and very pleasant. Our curriculum attempts to give students a well-rounded education in computing practice and theory, but with an emphasis on practical aspects. We try to ensure that all of our students learn how to program. Additionally, we emphasize teaching communication skills, both oral and written.
I invite you to look through our Web site to see if the distinctive characteristics of our program match your needs. If you have further questions, feel free to contact either myself, the director of the undergraduate program, or the directors of the graduate programs.
