PROFILE: Victoria joined Monmouth University in June 2005, after spending much time on campus cheering for the Monmouth Hawks football team, for whom her husband, Andy Bobik, has served as defensive coordinator since 1996. Victoria spent her first ten years in England before moving to the U.S. with her parents and brother. She enjoys being with her amazing little girl, and enjoys visiting her family in the U.K. as much as possible.

PROFILE: A native of Monmouth County, Patrick joined the Office of Undergraduate Admission in July of 2005 with almost five years of experience in higher education. An avid sports fan, it is difficult to find a sporting event that won’t capture his attention. Patrick also enjoys taking advantage of Monmouth University’s proximity to the beach, where you will find him fishing or enjoying a sunny day.

Danielle Colbert

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Freshman recruitment, special event planning, summer initiatives, homeschooled students

PROFILE: Danielle joined Monmouth University in 2007, after doing investor relations work in the precious metals and mining industry. However that was not the first time Danielle has worked for an admissions office, as she was a college tour guide back in the day (go student ambassadors!). She loves to travel and feels blessed to have participated in mission trips to Mexico, China, and the Czech Republic, as well as Hurricane Katrina Relief in New Orleans. In her free time, you can find Danielle spending time with friends and family, playing with her three beautiful kids, or doing a home DIY project!

Emma Cabán

PROFILE: Emma was raised in Long Branch, NJ. She graduated from Monmouth in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. At Monmouth, Emma joined Zeta Tau Alpha. She is an active member of her community and enjoys paint balling, fishing, biking with her son, and playing with her daughters.

Elizabeth Gensemer

PROFILE: Liz joined the Office of Undergraduate Admission in February of 2018 with seven years of experience working in higher education. She is proud to be a part of the Monmouth University community, and is glad to be back in her home state of New Jersey, after spending 13 years as a Philadelphia, PA resident. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano, watching football and spending time on the beach with her husband and dog.

Emily Blaser

PROFILE: Emily graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2019. While a student at Monmouth, Emily served as a Lead Ambassador in the Office of Undergraduate Admission and was president of the Monmouth Oral Communication Center Club on campus. In her free time you can find her taking photos of Monmouth’s campus, going to the beach, painting, or grabbing coffee at the local Rook Coffee shop.

Jihad Johnson

WORKS WITH: Students from Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties in New Jersey

PROFILE: Jihad graduated from Monmouth University with a BA in Communication in 2018 and a MSEd in Student Affairs and College Counseling in 2020. While as a student at Monmouth, Jihad was involved in what others like to say “everything.” Jihad served as a senator for SGA, worked as a student advising mentor, Intramural sports official and was an active member of the Black Student Union. Jihad devotes a lot of his time giving back to his community and to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In his free time you can catch Jihad singing, watching sports or cooking some of his favorite meals.

Karly Oristian

PROFILE: Karly graduated from Salisbury University in 2016 with a degree in Communications/Public Relations, and a minor in Marketing Management. As an undergraduate student, she was a member of the Salisbury Women’s Basketball team and was able to study abroad in England, Wales, and Italy. Karly joined the Monmouth University team in 2019 with about three years of experience in higher education. In her free time, she enjoys riding her bike, going to the beach, and petting every dog she sees on campus.

Michael Qualiano

PROFILE: Michael graduated from Monmouth with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2016. He was heavily involved on campus working as a New Student Orientation Leader, Resident Assistant, and Student Government senator. Michael is an avid writer focusing on screenwriting and creative fiction. He also loves indie/rock music the likes of Jimmy Eat World, The Gaslight Anthem, Sufjan Stevens, and Bon Iver.

Laura Yankowski

PROFILE: Laura received her Bachelor of Art from Gettysburg College and her Master of Education in College Student Affairs from Rutgers University. She started working with college students in 2011. After holding a number of unique positions within the college student affairs field she joined the Undergraduate Admission Office at Monmouth University in 2016. Laura is excited to have the chance to motivate high school students about college the same way that her admissions counselor did for her. She enjoys drinking coffee, sharing stories, time on the beach, and being with her two cats Hazel and Joseph.

PROFILE: Kelly graduated from Temple University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management, a minor in General Business Studies, and a concentration in Event Leadership. Throughout her four years as an undergraduate student, Kelly served as an Owl Ambassador and took a leadership role as the Social Coordinator in her office. In her free time, you can find her exploring new cities, getting sushi with friends, or binge-watching The Office.

Anne Horning

PROFILE: Anne joined the Office of Undergraduate Admission in September 2019 after nearly 20 years in the corporate and non-profit world. Having worked as an Office of Admission work study for four years as an undergrad, and an Admission Counselor for two years for her alma mater, Anne is excited to return to her roots in Admissions and is proud to be a part of the Monmouth University team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time on the beach with her husband, two young children, and their rescue dog CC (names after Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band saxophonist, Clarence Clemons).

Debbie Seals

Assistant to the Office of Undergraduate Admission

HIGH SCHOOL: Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, NJ

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Organizing and managing the travel schedules and expense records of undergraduate admission. Processing housing and parking forms and deposits. Assisting the visitation coordinator with tours and group visits.

PROFILE: After graduating in 1975 from Monmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Debbie worked at Jersey Shore Medical Center, and along with her husband (Monmouth Class of ’83!), raised two daughters. Following her love of Disney, she also worked for the Walt Disney Company as a store manager at The Disney Store. She brought her skills of customer service to her present job working with prospective students and families. Debbie feels being on staff here has been a rewarding way of promoting the school from which she learned, using her own knowledge and life experiences to help others achieve their goals.
