Spotlight on Writing: Writing Center Offers Workshops for Students - Read more ...
The Writing Center is a free resource available to all Monmouth University students who wish to improve their writing. We offer one-on-one writing assistance in all academic disciplines and at all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas and writing drafts to polishing the final revision and reviewing documentation styles.
Our staff identifies each student's particular needs and matches him or her with a Writing Assistant (WA) who will best meet those needs. Although the Writing Center often accommodates walk-ins, we strongly encourage students to make appointments using TutorTrac, an appointment-scheduling software, to ensure that appropriate-level Writing Assistants are available. To schedule an appointment online, click on the link for “TutorTrac” under "Quick Links" on the left-hand side of this page. For directions on how to use TutorTrac, access our “How to Make an Appointment” link under the heading “Student Resources” on the left-hand side of this page.
While the best option is to come to the Writing Center for face-to-face sessions, we do offer an Online Writing Center to graduate students who are unable to make our hours or are otherwise unable to get to campus. With online tutoring, graduate students are able to send papers via eCampus to the Writing Center, where a Writing Assistant will provide feedback and return the document via e-mail within 48 hours. Therefore, students must submit papers early enough to receive and revise them before their due dates.
To access the Online Writing Center, simply log in to eCampus under “Quick Links” on the left-hand side of this page. Once you are logged in to eCampus, there will be a link to the Online Writing Center at the bottom of your screen. Directions on how to use the Online Writing Center will be provided to you in eCampus.
