LCADC Licensure

LCADC Licensure

Monmouth’s program can help you on your way to becoming a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC). Students interested in pursuing the credential needed to work in the drug and alcohol treatment field can earn all their required coursework and up to 1,000 hours of their practice requirement as a built-in component of their MSW program.

Simply complete our Clinical Practice in Addictions course (SW 604) as one of your electives and add a one-credit elective, Addictions Considerations (SW 603), and you will have all the course content needed for LCADC licensure. You may apply field internship hours toward the required hours for this license as well.

Internships must be in addiction treatment. A 60-credit student could then perform both internships in the area of addictions and earn up to 1,000 hours toward the LCADC while logging hours needed toward their MSW.
