Professional Development Events Outside of the MU CCLC

In order to promote community across all institutions and organizations who devote their time and efforts to battling the ongoing climate crisis, this page serves the purpose of cataloguing events outside of the Monmouth University Climate Change Learning Collaborative. The MU CCLC has no affiliation with these events and cannot provide compensation to NJ public school teachers if they decide to attend. This is purely for the enrichment of those who wish to learn more for the benefit of themselves and their students.

Green & Healthy Schools In Action: Webinar Series
April 3rd @5:00 PM EST | Virtual

Join GHS Wisconsin “for our Green and Healthy Schools (GHS) Webinar Series, designed to showcase our GHS providers and schools that are leading the way in creating sustainable and vibrant school communities. Teach Climate Network Workshop: Igniting our Emotional Capacity for Connection and Collaboration in the Era of Climate Change
April 16th @ 6:00 PM EST | Virtual

This workshop will “explore how emotional capacity is key to solving the climate crisis. Disconnection lies at the heart of environmental degradation and social upheaval, but by harnessing our emotions we can resolve conflict, foster deeper community connections, and inspire meaningful action. Teaching climate change through emotional agility and care helps us reconnect across differences and build relational bonds that unite us and our Planet for lasting change.”

In registering for this workshop, you will also be sent a recording of the session. If you think you may have complications with this date and time, we encourage you to still register to receive that recording.

Climate Interactive: Climate Solutions Workshop
April 17th @ 7 AM, 2 PM EST | Virtual

Join Climate Interactive for a workshop “to explore cross-sector climate actions—from carbon pricing and energy efficiency, to agricultural practices. Using the En-ROADS Simulator, a user-friendly climate model, you will visualize the impacts of different climate solutions in real time.”

This workshop is for teachers of every knowledge and skill level as it relates to climate education. The goal is to inform teachers on climate solutions and how to apply the Climate Interactive simulator to test policy and technology implementation in the real world.

Teach Climate Network: The Summer Institute Conference
July 14 – 17, 2025 @11 AM – 7 PM ET | Virtual

The Teach Climate Network hosts a virtual, three-day, climate change education conference to connect educators and climate change professionals all across North America! The conference is great opportunity to learn about curricula, tools, and teaching tips to teach climate change concepts in all subject areas and settings, build community with local and nation leaders in climate change education, and lear. “This energizing experience connects educators to an engaged community seeking to build collective strength to inspire hope and action in our communities.”

The theme for the conference is still undecided and the agenda is still being updated. However, attendees can expect to dive into research, engage emotionally with the cause of climate justice, explore the intersections between social justice, climate change, and education, learn teaching strategies that steward climate literacy and social change, and examine solutions that are targeted toward making systemic change and support community.

The conference is completely virtual and registration is $250. “Attendees may apply for up to 20 continuing education credits. There are also optional graduate credits available for purchase (Some details may vary by cohort; more information provided about each cohort day on the registration page). [The Teach Climate Network is] committed to making this training inclusive and accessible to all educators. Climate Generation offers full scholarships, with priority given to People of Color and educators in underserved districts. More details on how to apply are available upon registration.”
