Job Title: Lawyer Referral Service & Community Outreach Coordinator

 

Job Summary: Are you passionate about expanding access to justice and making a meaningful impact in your community? Do you enjoy building relationships, managing programs, and finding creative solutions to challenges? If so, the Lancaster Bar Association (LBA) invites you to apply for the position of Lawyer Referral Service & Community Outreach Coordinator.

This role combines client service, attorney engagement, program coordination, and community outreach. The successful candidate will oversee the LBA’s Lawyer Referral Service, coordinate member and public service programs, and support the work of the Lancaster Law Foundation. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, self-motivated, and enjoys connecting people with valuable resources.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lawyer Referral Service (LRS)

  • Manage daily operation, including client intake, referrals, and follow-up.
  • Recruit, engage, and retain participating attorneys.
  • Maintain accurate databases of clients, participating attorneys, and referrals.
  • Process and reconcile financial transactions related to the Lawyer Referral Service.
  • Track referrals and program activity to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Monitor program performance and prepare reports on key metrics and outcomes.

2. Program Management

 

  • Coordinate programs that support attorney development and public service, including the Bar Builders Mentoring Program, Safe Driving Academy, and Mediation/Arbitration Services.
  • Manage program logistics, communications, outreach, and administration.
  • Recruit volunteers and participating attorneys while maintaining accurate program records.
  • Assist in developing new programs that respond to the evolving needs of our members and community.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

3. Supporting the Lancaster Law Foundation

 

  • Assist with community outreach, events, presentations, and special projects.
  • Support fundraising initiatives and Foundation events as needed.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, businesses, and civic leaders.

 

4. Additional Responsibilities

Other duties, as assigned. 

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in a legal, nonprofit, or customer service environment preferred.
  • Comfort building relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Confidence in public speaking and representing the organization in the community.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other modern office software and web-based platforms.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.

 

Job Details

 

Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday, in person.

Following successful completion of the probationary period, employees may be eligible for a flexible work schedule, subject to the Executive Director’s approval and organizational needs.

 

Salary & Benefits:  $45,000–$48,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
