Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II serves as a Return to Work Coordinator (RTWC) in the Medical Management Unit (MMU) and the backup for the Health and Wellness (H&W) Coordinator for the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). The incumbent interprets and advises management on laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and MOU provisions relating to workers’ compensation and reasonable accommodation; provides consultation to staff; serves as a liaison between the Department, employees, State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) adjusters, doctors, and attorneys; facilitates complex litigated workers’ compensation and reasonable accommodation cases; assists in the development and delivery of training related to workers’ compensation and reasonable accommodation requests; compiles and analyzes accident and injury statistics; reviews settlement stipulations with Office of the Director Legal Unit; provides settlement recommendations to the Office of the Director Legal Unit (ODL), and SCIF.

Working Conditions
This position is located at: 1416 9th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
We are located in the the renovated New Labor Agency Building in Downtown Sacramento at 1416 9th Street. We are also close to the Capitol, Downtown Plaza (DOCO), many restaurants, and gyms.
The incumbent works in a cubicle environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary for email communication, research, and other purposes. Being in a stationary position for long periods of time. Some occasional travel is required to visit various DIR offices.
