Prof. Moscaliuc Publishes Poem in Spring Issue of “Ploughshares”

Mihaela Moscaliuc, Ph.D., associate professor in the department of English, has published her poem, “By Chocolate,” in the Spring 2022 issue of “Ploughshares,” released April 13.

In addition to Moscaliuc’s piece, this issue features original poetry and prose by authors Sheila Black, Andres Cerpa, Victoria Chang, Jane Hirshfield, Mary Jo Bang, Paige Lewis, Layli Long Soldier, Khadijah Queen, Hadara Bar-Nadav, Hassaan Mirza, and others. The issue is guest-edited by Ilya Kaminsky.

“Ploughshares” is an award-winning journal of new writing. Since 1971, “Ploughshares” has discovered and cultivated the freshest voices in contemporary American literature, and now provides readers with thoughtful and entertaining literature in a variety of formats.

Previously, Moscaliuc has published poetry collections “Cemetery Ink” (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2021) and “Immigrant Model” (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2015). She has also translated poetry by Romanian writers Carmelia Leonte and Liliana Ursu, co-edited “Border Lines: Poems of Migration (Knopf, 2020),” and edited “Insane Devotion: On the Writing of Gerald Stern” (Trinity University Press, 2016).
