The Monmouth University student team from Dr. David Paul’s Services Marketing class ranked 19th out of 350 colleges in complex competitive business simulation. The team included students Benjamin Sutton (Red Lion, PA), Will Brucella (Franklin Lakes, NJ), and Susan Imperiale (Marlboro, NJ).
Success in this simulation requires student teams to order and interpret marketing research studies and make changes in their team’s business operations. Teams are evaluated according to “key performance indicators” (KPIs), some perhaps obvious (e.g., profitability, market share) and others less so but still very important (e.g., ratio of spending on marketing to revenues). For the most recent quarter for which data are available, the team of Benjamin Sutton, Will Brucella, and Susan Imperiale were 19th of approximately 350 competing teams in the nation on the KPI of ratio of change in net income to revenue. Other schools that were involved in the competition this semester included such institutions as Arizona State, Penn State, Clemson, and the University of Kansas.
The students received a certificate of accomplishment from Dr. Paul for their prestigious accomplishment.
