Monmouth University President Paul R. Brown and Monmouth students volunteered for Habitat for Humanity of Monmouth County in partnership with the 2013 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project on October 12. Each year since 1984, former President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, have given a week of their time to help build and renovate homes for Habitat for Humanity. This year’s project was in Union Beach and focused on the Sandy Recovery project. Monmouth University volunteers helped build homes and raised funds for the community. In addition, students from Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) marketed and fundraised for the project, and Monmouth University’s Hawk TV organized a “Rock ‘n Relief” concert on September 27 to raise money for the relief effort.
