Mathbor Presents at INSPIRARE Event

Golam Mathbor, Ph.D., interim dean and professor in the School of Social Work, recently presented at the International Network of Social Work Praxis and Innovation for Research, Advancing Scholarship, Rights, and Education (INSPIRARE) Global Project Launch and Virtual Event.

During his presentation, “Global Connections: Building International Social Work Pathways,” Mathbor introduced opportunities to connect with social networks globally and highlighted upcoming initiatives.

He also discussed global engagement strengths in local practice, international partnerships requiring equity, competency development, and sustainable pathways demanding long-term commitment.

INSPIRARE Global is an international initiative funded by the Council on Social Work Education’s Katherine A. Kendall Institute to expand global perspectives in the U.S. social work education.

The project’s overarching goal is to create platforms that serve a global hub for social work educators, students, and professionals, and create a space to exchange knowledge, challenge dominant narratives, and develop decolonized, cross-cultural approaches to social work.
