On behalf of the men and women of the Monmouth University Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our website where you will find campus safety information and services offered by our department. Please take a moment to peruse our site and let us know if you have any questions.
The mission of the Monmouth University Police Department is to ensure that our campus is safe and enjoyable for all who live, study, and work here. This requires a holistic approach to police-community teamwork. We encourage everyone on campus to get involved in our community crime prevention and community engagement activities. To accomplish our mission, we believe that building a safe environment is a community response.
The Monmouth University Police Department is comprised of sworn Police Officers, Safety Officers, and a dedicated administrative services team. The University Police Department also has a dispatch center which provides 24-hour dispatching services. Our daily operations are supplemented by a highly professional administrative staff that oversees Police Records, Parking, and Identification Card Services.
Every member of our police department is customer service-driven and dedicated to assisting our community when needed. We pride ourselves on our community-caretaker approach and the dedicated service to presence in our community by striving to partner with student organizations throughout our campus to meet our department mission.
Safety is the key to fostering an enriching, vibrant, and diverse learning community at Monmouth University, and the University Police Department is a committed partner in promoting safety through community engagement, 24-hour patrols of the university grounds, crisis-intervention trained staff, emergency response, and training opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
MUPD maintains a close relationship with Residence Life, Student Life, and other key university personnel to help keep our campus as safe and secure as reasonably possible.
MUPD is available to answer any questions regarding crime prevention and provides resources, tips, and ideas for staying safe. We remind all of our students and employees to sign up and also add family member email addresses to Regroup Alerts, our campus-wide emergency notification system at Monmouth University. We remind everyone to be aware of their surroundings and practice safe habits, especially at night. For further information regarding any campus safety-related questions, please refer to our Guide For a Safe Campus.
MUPD, in partnership with other law enforcement agencies, works hard to prevent and deter crime, but incidents do still occur. If you see something, say something: report suspicious behavior on campus to University Police at 732-571-4444 or dial 911 in an emergency.
Being a part of the Blue Hawk community is at the heart of the mission of the Monmouth University Police Department. Our officers choose to work here because of the unique nature of a university as diverse as Monmouth University.
Go Hawks!
