Based on the acclaimed memoir of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Rhodes, Hole in My World is a powerful documentary exploring the enduring effects of childhood trauma, the resilience of the human spirit, and the hope found through understanding and healing.
Interweaving Rhodes’s deeply personal journey with compelling interviews featuring internationally renowned trauma expert Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and physician and researcher Dr. Vincent Felitti, whose groundbreaking work transformed our understanding of childhood adversity and its lifelong impact, the film offers a moving and thought-provoking examination of trauma, memory, and recovery.
Following the screening, guests are invited to remain for an exclusive Q&A with the filmmakers and Richard Rhodes, who will discuss the making of the film, the inspiration behind his memoir, and the enduring significance of trauma-informed research.
