Maureen Dorment teaches the Department’s core requirement, Western Civilization in World Perspective, and upper elective courses in the history and sociology of the book and print culture. For her doctoral dissertation, she is currently researching freedom of the press during the early national period in the United States through the case of the political writer Philip Freneau.
