Professor Amaya-Fernandez is a well-known speaker and educator/trainer on public health and social justice issues. She has conducted trainings nationwide and in Latin America on topics of sexuality, global health, community engagement, and substance use prevention.

She has more than twenty-five years of working as a health educator in higher education and non-profit organizations. She has been working as an adjunct professor at various colleges & universities in New Jersey since 2006. 

Liz is the founder and director of Artemis Retreats, LLC, where she offers health education, wellness retreats, and doula services.
