Chih Chi “Tony” Fang, Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Department of Accounting at Monmouth University’s Leon Hess Business School. His teaching interests include financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting analytics, and the application of technology to accounting education.

Dr. Fang’s research focuses on corporate sustainability and ESG disclosure, executive compensation, corporate governance, and the use of machine learning and causal inference in accounting research. His work has appeared in peer-reviewed academic journals and has been presented at major conferences, including the American Accounting Association Annual Meeting and the European Accounting Association Annual Congress. In 2026, he received the AAA Ethics Research Symposium Best Doctoral Paper Award for research examining corporate diversity targets and ESG outcomes.

Dr. Fang earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Morgan State University and his M.S. in Accounting with a concentration in Data Analytics from the University of Maryland, College Park. He also holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Computer Science. Before entering academia, he spent more than 15 years in engineering, information technology, and secure systems development. His interdisciplinary background shapes his teaching and research interests in accounting, data analytics, emerging technologies, and business decision-making.
