Ashley McCarthy is thrilled to join Monmouth University’s full-time faculty in 2024 as the externship coordinator.

Previous to her specialist professor role at Monmouth, McCarthy served as an adjunct professor starting in 2019. During this time, she taught courses covering topics such as diagnostics, language development, and treatment. In addition to her position at Monmouth, McCarthy has had the opportunity to work in public school, private school, and the early intervention settings. It was through this work that she solidified her passion for early childhood development and inclusion.

McCarthy holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech-Language Association (ASHA) and is a member of the New Jersey Speech-Language Hearing Association (NJSHA). She has had the pleasure of presenting peer reviewed poster sessions during conferences at both the state (NJSHA) and national level (ASHA).

When she isn’t in the graduate center, she enjoys doing photography, yoga, and spending time with her husband, twin daughters, and two rescue dogs.
