About the Program
Students pursuing Monmouth’s Bachelor of Science in Mathematics will become linguists in the fundamental language of the universe. Our dynamic and experiential curriculum integrates core mathematical subjects with nontraditional courses such as mathematical reasoning and the history of mathematics. You will study the integration of technology and math by exploring programming, mathematical document writing, and graphical and symbolic software.
Math students work in small groups, attacking complex problems that reveal principal ideas. Monmouth has an active math department where students can delve into inquiries on special topics, cooperative education opportunities, advanced studies, and more.

Student Outcomes
Our mathematics graduates are highly employable individuals who can think logically and provide a unique perspective when solving problems. Many of our graduates are successfully fulfilling roles as educators, while others choose to pursue careers in technology, business, and government as consultants, analysts, actuaries, and statisticians.
Our alumni have been employed by The Hershey Company, the National Security Agency (NSA), AT&T, Rumson Capital LLC, BMI Merchandise, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, U.S. Census Bureau, Johnson & Johnson, and the USGA. Statistics majors have found work as actuaries for Prudential Insurance, sports statisticians for the New York Mets and New York Giants, and data analysts for the U.S. Department of Defense. Graduates have also completed M.S. and Ph.D. programs in statistics and data analytics at institutions including Villanova, NJIT, University of Virginia, and more.
Undergraduate Research & Internships
Math students can participate in career seminars, professional conferences, faculty-led research opportunities, and internships in areas like sports, education, or finance. Collaborate with peers to investigate and solve practical problems presented by local industries or organizations.
Mathematics students have participated in summer internships at corporations including Barnes & Noble, PepsiCo, JPMorgan Chase, and Hershey. Others have participated in the School of Science Summer Research Program, which grants undergraduate students the opportunity to work in partnership with faculty.
