Job Title: Student Administrative Assistant  

Location: Davis, California  

Position Overview: The Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Administrative Assistant for its Davis, CA office. The position supports FTE’s high school programming, working closely with the Student and Alumni Programs Coordinator to assist with the student program process. Responsibilities include packing, shipping, and organizing materials for in-person and virtual programs. Ideal candidates are adaptable, dependable, organized, and passionate about administrative support. An interest in social media and marketing is also desirable. Key Responsibilities: The Student Administrative Assistant’s duties will include, but are not limited to: 

Program Organizational Support: 

· Assist with packing supplies for FTE’s summer programs, ensuring all materials are prepared and organized. 

· Help organize program materials for in-person and virtual programs, ensuring that all resources are accessible and ready for distribution. 

Packing & Shipping: 

In-Person Programs: 

· Prepack and organize shipments for in-person programs. 

· Schedule shipments for specific dates using UPS WorldShip software. 

· Ensure printed materials are organized and ready for distribution. 

· If necessary, deliver packages to the UPS store in case of scheduling or delivery errors. 

Virtual Programs: 

· Prepack and organize shipments for individual students. 

· Schedule and ship all virtual program materials using USPS, ensuring timely delivery. 

· Deliver packages to the USPS store if there is an issue with the shipment schedule or delivery. 

Social Media & Marketing Support: 

· Assist the Student and Alumni Programs Coordinator with the creation of social media content for FTE’s platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok). 

· Support the execution of social media campaigns and posts that engage current and future students, alumni, and followers. 

Data Entry & Inventory Management: 

· Maintain an inventory spreadsheet of program materials, including tracking orders, shipments, and stock levels. 

· Update and track the status of program package shipments, including monitoring tracking numbers to ensure materials arrive on time (i.e., shipped, delayed, arrived). 

Additional Requirements: 

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for shipping and packing tasks. 

· Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. 

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. 

Qualifications: 

· Previous packing and shipping experience is a plus but not required. 

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

· A positive attitude, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. 

· An interest in education, student programming, and social media marketing.
