New York State legislative District office in Brooklyn, NY – is seeking a proactive and organized Special Assistant Community Relations to support community engagement, district events, and constituent services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government office environment. This full-time or part-time in-person position involves working closely with internal staff, interns, volunteers, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication across the district.

 

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 9a-5p

 

Salary Range:

$40,000 – $45,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

*Current range reflects full-time compensation. Part-time salary will be determined based on hours and experience; and shared upon inquiry.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in government, project management, event coordination, or community engagement.

Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently while supporting the office’s priorities and team.

Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced government office environment.

Proficiency with office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Canva, Zoom, and Google Workspace (preferred).

Bilingual or multilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Availability to support evening and weekend community events as scheduled
