SCPRT operates state parks, markets the state as a tourist destination and provides grants for parks, recreation and tourism development.

Job Purpose and Duties:

Provides basic administrative functions for three SCPRT office areas (Research, Grants Recreation and Policy, and the Film office). Answers calls from general public as part of agency phone service. Performs procurement services for the research office. Performs data collection, analysis and reporting for Research office. Respond to requests from the general public for tourism-research related information. Participates in agency teams as needed.

1) Collect daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly tourism-related economic indicators including tourism-related taxes, employment, hotel performance, air traffic and other data. Compile, clean, analyze and proof this data for use in basic recurring analyses, primarily for inclusion in internal and external publications or as base datasets for use by other research staff.
2) Coordinate and execute the reporting of SCPRT research materials including the intranet, internal agency reports, public-facing research reports on SCPRT.com, and research-related external agency newsletters. Maintains and manage Research records and documentation as part of the agency records retention process.
3) Monitor and coordinate budgets, expenditures and procurement procedures for the Research area. Establish and implement tracking and reporting systems for the Research area budget.
4) Provide analysis and consultation for on-going research projects and special or ad hoc agency projects as requested by Director of Recreation, Grants and Policy.
5) Assist Research, Grants and Film as necessary with administrative and procurement duties. Serve as the Procurement Card Holder for Research, Grants and Film, and handle limited procurement processes for the Film Office. Serve as rollover point of contact in agency VOIP system, fielding calls from governmental entities, businesses and the public regarding requests for general SCPRT requests.
6) Practice and promote teamwork within the work unit/office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.

 

 Actual Job Location: Research Management -Central Office

Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours weekly in office (this is not a remote position).
