YOUR ROLE
The Office of Research is Connecticut’s leading producer of information and statistics on the economy, workplace, occupations, and careers. The Office prepares a variety of print and electronic resources for assessing the state’s needs for skilled workers, assisting in economic development initiatives, aiding in the program planning of education and training providers, and guiding the career choices of job seekers and students.
In this role, the Research Analyst will conduct all aspects of the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII), a mandatory survey that is collected from private and public sector employers. Analyst will contact respondents via phone and email to clarify and correct data, explain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules, and document all changes. Analyst will contact non-respondents via phone and email to collect survey data. Analyst will use the required classification manuals to code descriptions of cases by nature of injury or illness.
