Preschool Teacher – YMCA of South Hampton Roads
Location: Portsmouth, VA & Virginia Beach, VA
Type: Full-Time | Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 / hour
Looking to launch your career in Early Childhood Education? Join our team at the YMCA of South Hampton Roads! We’re seeking energetic, passionate educators to create safe, play-based learning environments for kids ages 1 to 5.
What You’ll Do:
Lead & Inspire: Plan and direct engaging, play-based activities tailored to cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth.
Build Community: Create an inclusive classroom environment while guiding daily routines.
Track Development: Observe children’s progress and partner with parents and families.
Qualifications:
Age & Education: 18+ years old with a High School Diploma/GED + meets VA Dept. of Education Lead Teacher guidelines.
Preferred Majors: Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related fields.
Certifications: CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Clear required Virginia background and CPS checks.
