Park Ranger

This position is responsible for a wide variety of job functions including frequent patrols and observation and public safety. The employee enforces Park rules and regulations and notifies the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office to handle complaints and violations of all Jefferson Parish Ordinances as well as all State and Federal Laws. In constant contact with all park visitors and handles simple violations of Park rules by verbal contact, verbal warning, and/or written warning. Special attention must be given to health and safety concerns related to work duties, as they relate to Park participants. Employees must follow all Departmental rules, regulations, and policies. The employee may work on weekends and holidays. Work day will occur either day shift or evening shift. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.
