Earn a Salary and Benefits While Completing Your Healthcare Degree

The U.S. Navy Health Services Collegiate Program provides financial support to eligible students completing qualifying medical, dental, or healthcare graduate programs.

Selected students serve on active duty while attending school full time and may receive:

  • A monthly military salary
  • A housing allowance based on school location
  • Comprehensive medical and dental benefits
  • Military service credit toward pay and retirement
  • Leadership experience as a future Navy healthcare officer

Depending on the profession and length of participation, total compensation may range from approximately $157,000 to $269,000. HSCP provides salary and benefits but generally does not directly pay tuition.

Eligible Career Fields

Opportunities may be available for students pursuing qualifying programs in fields such as:

  • Medicine
  • Dentistry
  • Physician Assistant Studies
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Pharmacy
  • Optometry
  • Social Work
  • Healthcare Administration
  • Environmental Health
  • Other designated Medical Service Corps specialties

After completing your degree, required licensing, and Navy training, you will serve as a commissioned officer in the Navy Medical Corps, Dental Corps, or Medical Service Corps.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants generally must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be accepted to or enrolled full time in an eligible accredited program
  • Meet academic and professional program requirements
  • Meet Navy medical and physical standards
  • Qualify for appointment as a Navy officer
  • Complete the required active-duty service commitment

Program availability, eligible specialties, compensation, and service obligations are subject to current Navy requirements.
