Logistics Coordinator Intern

Who is Lighthouse?

At Lighthouse, we’re revolutionizing the freight brokerage industry. Starting as a traditional 3PL, we’ve transformed into a powerhouse, combining trucking, warehousing, and packaging with cutting-edge technology. Our innovative business model, culture, and incentives are focused on creating success for our clients, carriers—and our team.

Why Join Lighthouse?

Looking to get real-world experience in sales, logistics, and the transportation industry? As a Logistics Coordinator Intern, you’ll work alongside a Sales Account Executive and get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to manage customer accounts and keep freight moving. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the logistics business while building valuable communication, problem-solving, and business skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Daily Operations: Assist the Sales Account Executive with the day-to-day management of customer accounts and shipments.
  • Learn the Logistics Process: Gain hands-on experience coordinating freight from pickup to delivery and learn how shippers, carriers, and brokers work together.
  • Communicate with Customers & Carriers: Assist with emails, calls, updates, and follow-up to help ensure shipments stay on track.
  • Problem Solve: Help troubleshoot shipment issues and identify solutions when things don’t go as planned.
  • Assist with Rates & Quotes: Learn how freight is priced and assist with gathering and comparing rates from carriers.
  • Stay Organized: Help maintain accurate shipment information, update systems, and keep account details organized.
  • Learn the Business: Gain exposure to freight brokerage, sales, customer relationships, transportation operations, and account management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who is motivated, curious, and eager to learn
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Someone who takes initiative and isn’t afraid to ask questions
  • Interest in sales, business, logistics, transportation, or supply chain
  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, marketing, supply chain, logistics, or a related field is preferred

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience in the transportation and logistics industry
  • Exposure to both sales and operations
  • Experience working directly with customers and carriers
  • A better understanding of the freight brokerage and 3PL business
  • Mentorship and day-to-day experience working alongside an experienced Sales Account Executive
  • The opportunity to build professional skills in communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and account management
