Washington CAN! is a grassroots community organization with over 23,000 members in WA States. Washington CAN! is currently working on several issue-based campaigns: Universal Healthcare, Prison Reform, Housing Justice, and working to elect like-minded candidates.
Position Description:
Field Organizers and Field Organizer Interns engage with community members to educate, motivate and activate people to become more engaged with the democratic process in order to affect policy and elections. Field Organizers and Interns are often the first touch people have with our organization, and thus convey information to new and existing members about our mission, vision, values, and overall work on issues like Healthcare, Mass Liberation, Housing, Reproductive Justice, and Gender, Racial, and Economic Justice. Interns will work on voter registration and getting out the vote to elect politicians that reflect the mission of Washington CAN! From the Presidential ticket and other down ballot races.
Interns will additionally be coached and then asked to conduct candidate and policy research, help create social media content, assist with events, and report out to members as well as leadership. WaCAN! is willing to work with students to create an internship that will enrich skills pertinent to the student’s major or areas of career interest, with an Advisor’s approval. Candidates interested in Internships should reach out to their Advisors to review the process of how to obtain credit for an internship with WaCAN!

We are offering Full and Part Time Paid Positions, Full and Part Time Paid Internships and Full Time and Part Time Unpaid Internships.
