PLAINTIFF’S PERSONAL INJURY law firm is looking for a full-time Complex Litigation Assistant who can assist the paralegals and attorneys in managing case files in the litigation phase.
PREVIOUS LEGAL EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED****
Compensation is based on experience.
This is a position for college graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in complex litigation. Our firm has an opportunity for candidates who are eager to contribute to high-stakes litigation, specifically assisting the victims of the Los Angeles Eaton Fire that has displaced over 10,000 people.
This high-profile, billion dollar litigation involves over 20,000 plaintiffs and presents a unique opportunity for recent graduates to work on substantive legal issues, develop litigation skills, and gain insight into complex, large-scale, mass tort litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Help the litigation team in everyday tasks related to case files.
- Assist with pleadings, discovery and petitions.
- Manage and maintain case calendars and deadlines.
- Collect, organize, and maintain files.
- Help with legal research and preparing and drafting legal documents.
- Maintain client communication (email and phone).
- Data entry and scanning and saving information in the firm’s case management system.
- Perform other administrative tasks, as requested.
Qualifications and Skills:
- BA/BS degree in a related field**
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking).
- Strong vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, computers, and technology
- Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback
- Willingness to learn and adapt, and motivation to succeed
