Position: Commercial Leasing Associate Attorney 

Type: Full Time

Summary

Seeking an experienced Commercial Leasing Associate to join its nationally recognized Real Estate Practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 4–7 years of sophisticated commercial leasing experience who is interested in representing institutional landlords, tenants, developers, investors, and lenders in complex leasing transactions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in advising clients within the rapidly growing data center, digital infrastructure, and energy industries, handling complex lease negotiations while supporting large-scale development and financing projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and revise sophisticated commercial leases for office, industrial, retail, mixed-use, and specialized commercial properties.
  • Prepare and negotiate related real estate agreements, including:
    • Transfer Consents
    • Subordination, Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreements (SNDAs)
    • Lender Subordination Agreements
    • Work Letters
    • Lease Amendments
    • Estoppel Certificates
  • Advise clients throughout all phases of commercial leasing transactions.
  • Support complex real estate development projects involving data centers, energy infrastructure, and digital facilities.
  • Analyze development-related issues involving:
    • Power infrastructure
    • Water access
    • Fiber-optic infrastructure
    • Zoning
    • Land use
    • Entitlements
    • Permitting
  • Collaborate with finance, development, construction, environmental, and corporate legal teams on multidisciplinary transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on sophisticated real estate matters.
  • Provide strategic legal advice regarding risk allocation and transaction structure.
  • Maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional legal service.
  • Manage multiple sophisticated transactions simultaneously while meeting client deadlines.

Experience You’ll Need

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) in the jurisdiction of the resident office.
  • 4–7 years of commercial real estate leasing experience.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial leases.
  • Strong experience with:
    • SNDAs
    • Transfer Consents
    • Work Letters
    • Lender Subordination Agreements
  • Understanding of commercial real estate development and leasing transactions.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and legal writing skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Prior experience at an Am Law 100 law firm is required.

  • Experience with data center leasing and development.
  • Energy infrastructure transactions.
  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Commercial real estate financing.
  • Construction and development agreements.
