Business Development Representative

Inland Transport is looking for motivated people who want to build a career in transportation, logistics, and sales.
This is an entry-level position. Previous logistics experience is not required. We are looking for people who are dependable, competitive, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
The Career Path
Trainee → Carrier Representative → Business Development Representative
You will start by learning the transportation industry from the ground up. Our goal is to develop people internally and give strong performers an opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow within Inland.
What You’ll Do
During training, you will learn how to:
- Work with carriers and customers
- Book and coordinate freight
- Negotiate rates
- Track shipments from pickup through delivery
- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and customers
- Solve problems when shipments don’t go according to plan
- Use our transportation management and internal systems
- Understand freight rates, lanes, equipment, and market conditions
- Build relationships over the phone, email, and in person
- Develop the skills needed to move into sales and account management

What We Don’t Require
You do not need previous freight brokerage or logistics experience.
We would rather hire someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and personality and teach them the industry.
