Location: Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) | Full-Time
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (Varied schedule including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays as needed)
This role blends administrative coordination with hands-on aquatics work. You will support the Assistant Director in running our Private Swim program while delivering 30–35 hours per week of direct service, including swim instruction, lifeguarding, swim team coaching, and American Red Cross course instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support: Assist with Private Swim program scheduling, lesson package management, participant communications, and roster management via Traction Rec.
Direct Aquatics Service: Conduct group/private swim lessons, coach swim team, lifeguard, and teach Red Cross courses (30–35 hrs/week).
Staff & Swimmer Development: Conduct swim evaluations; assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training swim instructors and lifeguards.
Operations: Serve as check-in support for lessons, respond to family inquiries, and fulfill Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of swim instruction experience required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
Certifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguarding (Deep Water) w/ CPR/AED & First Aid required (or obtained within 90 days). LGI and WSI certifications preferred.
Skills: Ability to teach Learn-to-Swim (ages 6 mos–14 yrs), tech proficiency (MS Office, Google Workspace), strong organizational skills, and clear communication.
