We are looking for a strong AI Engineer with experience in Python, RAG systems, and agentic AI development. In this role, you will help design and productionize AI-powered applications using Google Cloud and Vertex AI, build reliable tool-using agents, and work with vector and graph databases.

You will have the opportunity to work across the full AI application lifecycle — from data ingestion and retrieval to agent orchestration, evaluation, deployment, and production optimization.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop AI-powered web applications using Python, Flask, Django, and related technologies.
• Build and productionize RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines using Google Cloud and Vertex AI.
• Work with technologies and concepts including chunking, embeddings, indexing, retrieval, reranking, and grounding.
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows, including tool/function calling, planning, reflection, guardrails, and structured outputs.
• Work with Python-first AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or AutoGen.
• Work with vector databases and vector search technologies for AI applications.
• Explore and implement knowledge graph-based retrieval and graph databases where appropriate.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services to support AI-powered applications.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and quality improvement.
• Define and run AI evaluation processes, including retrieval metrics, answer quality, hallucination detection, and grounding checks.
• Monitor and continuously improve the quality, reliability, and performance of AI systems.
• Deploy AI applications to production with appropriate monitoring, observability, CI/CD, security, and cost/performance optimization.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritization.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, and Python development.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with Python 3 and software development.
• Understanding of the software development and testing lifecycle.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Experience building RAG solutions, including retrieval, chunking strategies, embeddings, reranking, prompting, and structured outputs.
• Familiarity with at least one agentic AI framework, such as LangGraph/LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or AutoGen.
• Understanding of tool/function calling and agentic workflow patterns.
• Solid understanding of vector search concepts and experience with at least one vector database.
• Strong engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, telemetry, security, and reliability.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a software engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ year of professional experience in Python web application development.
• Experience with Flask or Django.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs in Python.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Vertex AI and GCP, including IAM, logging/monitoring, Cloud Run/GKE, and cloud storage.
• Experience with knowledge graphs for RAG, including entity linking, graph traversal, and retrieval fusion.
• Experience with streaming/messaging technologies such as Pub/Sub or Kafka.
• Experience with document processing pipelines such as Document AI.
• Experience with multilingual retrieval.
• Familiarity with evaluation tools such as RAGAS, TruLens, or custom evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with prompt and version management.
• Basic experience with frontend technologies such as React or Next.js.
• Experience building internal developer tools or AI platform enablement solutions.

This is a client-facing opportunity. Work arrangements may vary depending on the specific client project and may include on-site or hybrid work. Candidates should be flexible regarding work location and open to relocation when required by the project.
