Join The Knight School as a Part-Time After School Coach and help kids build confidence, sportsmanship, and chess skills through our proven, kid-focused curriculum. No prior chess experience required — just a love for working with kids and a great attitude.
Pay & Schedule
- $16.00/hr while training to run a class
- $20.00/hr as a Lead Coach running a class solo or with an assistant
- Classes are 75 minutes; you’re paid for 2 hours per class (Lead Coaches: 3 hours)
- $1/hr raise for each completed semester
- Flexible availability — choose the schedule that works for you
About the Role You’ll teach chess using our structured national curriculum, guiding kids from learning the pieces to real strategic thinking — all while keeping things fun. We prioritize sportsmanship first, fun second, and competitive chess skill third. Our approach has helped teams win 20+ state championships, but the real focus is every kid, not just the top players.
What We’re Looking For

- Strong integrity and a friendly, outgoing personality
- Valid driver’s license
- Some chess knowledge preferred, not required
