ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The Administrative Assistant performs skilled clerical and complex administrative work in support of the Airport Director, Airport Management Team, and Airport Authority Board of Directors. This position is responsible for providing a broad range of administrative, organizational, and office management functions that contribute to the efficient operation of the Airport. Work is performed under general supervision and requires the exercise of sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills, be proficient in current business software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
•Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, administrative procedures, office equipment, and secretarial techniques.
•Strong knowledge of business English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic mathematics.
•Working knowledge of airport operations, organizational structure, and administrative policies and procedures.
•Knowledge of human resources principles, payroll administration, and personnel records management.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with other standard office software.
•Ability to prepare accurate reports, maintain detailed records, and organize large volumes of information.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
•Associate degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field preferred.
•Considerable experience providing executive-level administrative support in a professional office environment.
•An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
 

LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
•Must be able to obtain certification as a North Carolina Notary Public if not already commissioned
•Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Work requires reaching, fingering, repetitive motions, and extended computer use. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas and conveying detailed information accurately. Hearing is required to receive detailed oral communications, and visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating office equipment, and ensuring the accuracy of work. The employee is not normally exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
