THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has an opening for an experienced Administrative Assistant within the Safety Division of the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement. If you are highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, we invite you to join our Admin Team!

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Safety Administrative Assistant for the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement will primarily:

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive assistance to the Safety Manager and inspectors within the Safety Division of the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement (BIE)
  • Document Preparation: Draft letters, memoranda, reports, schedules, and other official correspondence and prepare final versions for distribution
  • Software Skills: Maintain strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate logistics for the annual Safety Seminar and related training events, including vendor and hotel communication and attendee registration
  • Material Preparation: Prepare seminar materials such as informational packets, flyers, and name tags

 

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

    • To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee’s alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements: 
      • Within a reasonable travel distance of headquarters; and 
      • Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
