The Center Professional Development in Nursing and Health (CPDNH)  is part of the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing at Monmouth University, located in West Long Branch, NJ.  Our mission is to provide programs and activities that support the professional development of nurses and healthcare providers meeting the ANA’s Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Professional Development.  By providing quality continuing education we strive to  “support the provision of quality of healthcare within local or global practice environments. ”  (ANA’s Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Professional Development, 2010 pg 9).  The goal of the CPDNH is to support lifelong learning and continuing competence for nursing professionals.

The Center for Professional Development in Nursing and Health at Monmouth  University is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by New Jersey State Nurses Association, an accredited approver, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Provider number: P242-9/18-21

Patricia Dempsey, MS, RN, APN-C, PNP-BC
Our Community Educator of the Year
Each year the CPDNH honors an Educator for their contribution toward professional development. In 2019 we are delighted to present this award to Patricia Dempsey, MS, RN, APN-C, PNP-BC who is a Specialist Professor at Monmouth University and a practicing APN Specializing in Primary and Emergency Care. She is a member of the Center for Professional Development’s Advisory committee and on the planning committee for the Nurse Practitioner Boot Camp. A frequent lecturer for the Center and a life-long learner herself, she is known for engaging learners using a deductive teaching style. Participants have frequently commented that she is a “great teacher”. We truly appreciate her support of nursing professional development.
