Pursuant to the December 2021 Attorney General Guideline “Promoting Diversity in Law Enforcement Recruiting and Hiring,” the Monmouth University Police Department is committed to doing all that we can to hiring staff who reflect the community we serve. Per Monmouth University data concerning student population which was taken from the 2020 Fact Book, Monmouth University’s population is 69% White, 14% Hispanic, 6% Black, 3% Asian, 2% Two or more races, 4% Other/Unknown, and 2% Non-resident alien. As of June 1, 2022 the MUPD had 16 police officers: 81% were white, 13% were Hispanic and 6% were black. Additionally, 87% of the officers are male and 13% are female.
